Elizabeth Lim's journey into storytelling began in her childhood, nourished by a rich diet of fairy tales, myths, and melodies. At the age of 10, she ventured into the realm of writing, crafting fanfictions for beloved series like Sailor Moon, Sweet Valley, and Star Wars, and sharing them online to discover the joy of being read and appreciated. Although initially discouraged by a teacher's critique of her "too much voice" in essays, Elizabeth temporarily set aside her creative pursuits to focus on academic endeavors, later earning a doctorate in music composition while working as a film and video game composer. However, the allure of storytelling remained strong, leading her back to writing as a welcome respite from the demands of grad school. Driven by a newfound determination, Elizabeth embarked on the journey of writing her first novel, initially as a casual pursuit before fully committing to the craft. Since then, she has immersed herself in the world of storytelling, never looking back. Elizabeth finds inspiration in classic film scores, literature with compelling romances, and the vibrant flavors of cuisine, particularly enjoying arepas and Ethiopian food. She has a fondness for the color turquoise, overcast skies, English muffins, cycling, and baking. Currently based in New York City, she shares her life with her husband, finding solace and inspiration in the bustling cityscape.
