Cynetic Wolf by Matt Ward – Book Review
This book has fabulous world-building, a dystopian future very well detailed, and at the same time, an information overload. There are so many layers and themes (the ethics of human genetic experimentation, society structure, slavery, and political intrigue).

The Beast and the Bethany by Jack Meggitt-Phillips – Book Review
The Beast and the Bethany is a middle-grade fantasy story in which all the main characters are deeply (and disturbingly) flawed and fairly unlikeable. If we move past the witty and snarky comments, the story offers some valuable messages to the young readers.

Beautiful and vivid world-building, interesting and fresh mythology, plenty of mystery, and a healthy dose of sarcasm make for an engrossing read.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas - Book Review
From the beginning, it gave me Beauty and the Beast vibes, but that soon ebbed the more I read. I’m not even sure I can call this a retelling because aside from the premises and the curse, they don’t have much in common. The plot of A court of Thorns and Roses is much more intricate, with a wide array of complex characters and unexpected events.

Crossing in Time by D.L. Orton – Book Review
The Earth is in danger and humanity is circling down the drain due to many things including a virus (not Covid-19, but something Ebola-like that kills across species), and the main character, Isabel, who is a geneticist must go back in time to rescue her failed relationship because it’s the only thing that can save the world.
