If you've been following me for a while you know I've raving about the Black Bear series by Zoe Ashwood. And since the 4th book in the series just came out, I'm sure you expected a review. I won't let you down. If you want to refresh your memory on this series, read my reviews of Book 1, Book 2, and Book 3.
I just finished reading Her Orc Protector by Zoe Ashwood, the latest addition to the Black Bear Clan series, and I have to say, it was absolutely adorable! The female lead, Ivy, had such a great character arc as she learns to trust and overcome her fears. The relationship between Ivy and Korr was so endearing, and they really understood each other on a deep level.
Even though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. However, I highly recommend reading the other books in the series as they are all fantastic reads! This story had a great balance of vulnerability and strength from both Ivy and Korr, and their imperfections made them seem all the more perfect for each other.
I particularly enjoyed Ivy's character development as she learns to overcome her fears of orcs and her own magical abilities. Korr also had a satisfying arc as he resolved the conflict with his brother. The relationship development between the two was very well done, and their communication was key in finding a mutually agreeable solution to their concerns.
Overall, Her Orc Protector was a well-written, character-driven romance with a strong female lead. If you're looking for a sweet and spicy read with lots of heart, this book is definitely worth checking out!
