The Last Stand by Anna Mocikat - Book Review

“Last Stand” by Anna Mocikat is the fourth installment in the Behind Blue Eyes series, and it does not disappoint. With each book, the series gets darker, more intense, and more jaw-dropping, and “Last Stand” is no exception.

The novel centers around Nephilim, a badass heroine who is the only killer machine in the story who retains human feelings. Despite being the most deadly weapon in the entire Angel corps, she is lovable and fascinating. The relationship between Metatron and Nephilim is also a highlight of the book, taking the intensely complex connection between the two characters to new heights.

Mocikat’s skillful writing is on full display in the breathtaking battle and action scenes throughout the book. This idea is implanted early in the story, and as a result, readers will sweat with each altercation where their favorite characters may not make it to the end of the page.
